Thought for the day: Before Going to a Workshop
Above I posted this article: 8 Things You Should Do Before Going to a Photography Workshop.
While a good list I think it missed a few things. Things that apply not just to photography workshops but any class in any field.
- Read up/view work by the instructor
- Buy/read books by the instructor.
- Check with the hosting organization on the physical requirements of the class (I went to one class where the host said it was 2 miles/100’ max per day. The instructor’s day1 plan was 12 miles and over 8000’ vertical in one day. With regret I dropped the class).
- After the workshop teachback what you learned to friends or members of your camera club. It will greatly help you remember what you were suppose to learn.
- If you want to stay in contact with anyone in the class. reach out and start a conversation.Set up times to meet. Be proactive you you will probably seldom be in contact with them again.
- And if you promised anyone at the workshop any pictures, be sure to deliver them in a timely manner.
