Thought for the day: – Major Mistake at Photoshoot
A friend and I photographed a traveling ballerina a couple of days ago. I had worked with this ballerina about 4 years ago and we worked well together. My friend and I worked have shot well together over the past 7 years or so. The ballerina was good and was enthusiastic about our desire to get the best possible photos rather than the most possible good photos.
All went well until my friend put his camera on the prop table during a break. And then while we were all resting and chatting (with masks, at safe distances) he turned on the stool he was on and his elbow swept his new Nikon Z and the new Z lens onto the concert floor. The lens no longer focused, even when being turned by hand. I’ve had cameras/lenses drop, we all do. Sometime you are more lucky than you deserve and sometimes…
Two questions:
1) What should you do differently in a shoot.
2) And what to do afterwards?
